Workforce Empowerment Employment Program (W.E.E.P)

The Employment Program offered at The Genieve Shelter is job training program that provides domestic violence survivors the vocational skills they need to enter the workforce. Victims of domestic violence face difficult barriers to becoming self-sufficient. Many victims are lacking financial stability. This program is designed to help our clientele increase their self-esteem by equipping them with employable skills and training that will allow them to gain employment. The W.E.E.P program promotes confident and dependable survivors working to accomplish economic independence.

How to text 911:

  1. On your mobile device, enter the numbers "911" in the "To" or "Recipient" field of a new text message...
  2. The first text to 911 should be short and include the location of the emergency, and ask for the police, fire, or ambulance...
  3. Press the "Send" button
  4. Answer questions and follow instructions from the 911 call taker

How to use hand signal:

  2. When virtually talking with a friend, social worker, case manager, doctor, etc. you can use the signal to non-verbally ask for help
  3. The person seeing the symbol should then ask you yes or no questions to get you the best help you need (Ex. Would you like me to call 911? Do you need me to call a shelter and look into services for you?)
